She turned slowly as the rain began to fall lightly on her skin washing away the remnants of the dark web she had emerged from like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. Her chest heaved heavily fighting to steady her  breath, silver eyes blinking unused to such harsh light of the earthly skies. Strange sounds caused her to snap her head round in an almost robotic movement, the air here feeling lighter than that of the thick dense almost choking air  from where she had come from. Through the rain she saw smoke, flames, the sizzling sound of water hitting the hot embers loud in her pointed ears, confused as to the dystopian appearance of the landscape that surrounded her, rubble, trees felled burning to ashes, crumbling structures she assumed were the huts the humans must live in now nothing but ruined chaos. This was not what she had seen in the books her mentor had shown her, where was the green lushness of life? She would soon learn that her arrival had lain ruin to an entire village..
