What If...Steve Went To Vormir?

Instead of Clint going with Natasha to Vormir, it was Steve. When the time came, both knew what they had to do. After a light argument, cut off by a spur of the moment kiss by Steve, it happened.

Steve neutralized Natasha with one of her Widow bites disks and walked over to the edge. When the effects of the disk wore off, Natasha looked up to see the man she loved standing there, with his shield laid down on the ground before him.

"I love you," he whispered with a tearful smile before leaning back and going over.

As he dropped, so did Natasha's heart. Everything seemed to be in slow-motion as she ran towards the edge, but when she got there and looked over, her heart shattered at the sight of Steve down below, laying on his front, a small pool of blood around him. The cries of Natasha's echoed off the cliff as the pain of seeing him dead stabbed her in the heart.

Now, she carries the shield, keeping bright the legacy of her best friend, her partner, her love...Steve Rogers
