Splicer The Red: "A mad scientist's lament: Good help is sooo... hard to corrupt."

Dr. Loki Fenrison: "Perhaps. But much easier... *To sheep-dip in hollandaise sauce!!* And I'm Hungry"

Splicer: [eek] "yes, meister boss-man sir??"

30 years later:

Splicer: "Hey, dog breath! Shake your tail! We're late!"

Loki: "Relax, chopped liver! Just putting in my cufflinks!"

Even monsters have a past, and Lord Gairon is definitely a monster. He simply wasn't born as one. He neither knows nor cares how he got both his powers and his abnormally long life. His obsession with a singular vendetta will have devastating consequences both personally and globally.

+ Deliberately designing a villain with several neurological / psychiatric issues is a calculated risk since unrighteous stigma is already attached to psychiatric problems.

To be clear: Lord Gairon is evil despite having these issues -- not because of them. I'm treating his vampiric aspect as an addiction -- just a really creepy one.

+ It's memories about his mother's love & sacrifices that'll eventually aid in both his redemption and his destruction. It'll be his loyalty to, and respect for, a child that will motivate him to make an ultimate sacrifice. And that girl will become his unsung mother's greatest legacy.

This image shows a tanned woman of Japanese descent in traditional clothing. The setting is the interior of a smoky longhouse with a dirt floor, evoking a rustic atmosphere.
