Aisha was in a rush. Today was her inaugural event at the university, and she still had a few last-minute preparations to make. The morning sun was just beginning to rise as she adjusted her hijab and niqab, items she had chosen to wear since her youth. In her community, it was entirely normal and accepted for women to dress this way, and no one in public had ever seen her face, which she was often praised for. There was no obligation to wear the hijab, and some women chose not to, but Aisha felt a deep personal connection to her choice.

"Did I remember everything?" Aisha muttered to herself as she grabbed her notes from the table. She glanced at her watch and gasped. "I'm running late!"
