Inmorai Y'bys, Herald of the Char

We glimpsed the Char as we left the Red Mountains, just beyond the perimeter of their peaks, like a dam, beyond which is a river of smoldering coals, pyroclastic belches and rills of flames. Meldiel Ataru had tried to reach it, blessings of Mahtma that we caught him before having to endure that hellscape.

I saw a lone figure shadowing our egress the first two nights, curious perhaps, to see anything not spectral in this fumarole. I was equally curious, on the deep night watch, gazing back, her figure illumined by the angry orange red beyond her.

The Lord Marshal confers with her, brings me her auguries, but she never approaches and I am not to approach her. At times she seems to stroll about as if this were a garden of smoke, at other times, she moves more like a forward scout, patrolling the borderlands. Curious. I must learn more.
