Winifred met them at the entrance. She smiled warmly.
“Peace, Sister Helena, peace Sister Petronilla. I'm so glad you could join us this afternoon,” she said as she flashed a new sign to them. Using her thumb and her pointer finger she made a circle, leaving the other three to point to the sky.
Helena recognized it as a symbol that an Indian cult led by a teenage guru in the 1970’s.
“Probably just a coincidence,” she thought. She and Fairbairn did their best to reciprocate the gesture, which Winifred deemed satisfactory.
“Peace to you, Winifred,” the two women replied.
“Matilda is eager to see you. Come with me please.”
They walked towards the stone area where Helena and Fairbairn underwent the trial of water and fire a few days prior.
