The fall

I’m up in the air, weightless, the rain falls onto my face so gently as if afraid to hurt me. Brought back to my earthly vessel as my feet pound against the polypropylene and polyethylene mat of my sodden trampoline. With each jump I feel gravity loose control over my body, I leap higher, and higher with each bound. Without gravity I am free at least until I go back down and my soaked tracksuit pants tug at my waist. Bending my legs as I fall and elongating them as I rise, up higher than ever before just to fall. Down, down, down, now ready to use my back to brace my fall. My eyes are shut tight when I notice I’m floating again and the rain no longer falls onto my skin. I dare to open my eyes and in an instant regret the action. I must have hit my head I conclude,
