Crying at afternoon tea

well done , i love it

Sad but beautiful!

Awww so cute! 👏🌟💫✨

They finished their tea and cake, and one by one, they got up to leave. They hugged Alice and said they were sorry he didn’t show up. They said they hoped to meet him another time. They said they were happy for her. Alice knew they were lying. She sat there alone, surrounded by empty cups and plates. She felt a surge of sadness and anger. She had been so excited, so hopeful, so happy. And now she felt nothing but betrayal and disappointment. She couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. She buried her face in her hands and sobbed. Her heart shattered into pieces.

“Where is he?” they asked. “Is he coming?” Alice assured them that he would be there soon. She tried to make small talk, but she kept glancing at the clock. The minutes ticked by, and still no sign of him. She felt a knot in her stomach. Her friends started to tease her gently. “Are you sure he’s real?” they joked. “Maybe you made him up.” “No, he’s real,” Alice insisted. “He’s just…busy.” They didn’t look convinced. They looked pitying.

Alice had dreamed of this day for weeks. She was going to introduce her new boyfriend to her friends at the tea rooms. He was perfect for her: witty, charming, and attentive. She felt like she had fallen into a wonderland with him. She had told her friends all about him, but she worried that she had set their expectations too high. She couldn’t help it, though. She was in love. She arrived early and reserved a table for four. She checked her phone for any messages from him, but there was nothing. She hoped he was just running late. She smiled nervously as her friends arrived, one by one. They greeted her with hugs and compliments, but she could sense their curiosity.

Love how her eyes tie in the scenery. Really interesting and lovely render.

I love it. Nice and moody.
