Dove demon

I have a vicious little cat, not the fat one I regularly depict (who is completely inept, uncoordinated, and not very bright). She is an amazing hunter, and I have trumpet vines all along a fence, very thick vines and leaves, good hiding place. So, one day I let the hunter into the house and I notice flecks of blood and feather, but hey! It's the hunter so whatever. An hour later, I went out to tend to my garden and I keep hearing plaintive cooing. Then, out from the cover of the vines walks a dove with it's spine exposed. It saw me and darted back into the vast network of vines. I couldn't find it again. I assume it died in there, but YIPES, was that dove hideous!
