Silent City: I Extinction awaits by moonlight

The City had known many names. Through the centuries it offered the promise of wisdom and understanding, of logic and collaboration. Its great debate halls had raised up generations of Citizens bent on nothing greater for themselves than the betterment of future itself.

In the City, no words were blasted at insensate skies in futile displays of impotence against a ruthless universe. For all Citizens knew, young and old, that the gods themselves were contrived by the people to give shape to philosophies, without which, society itself might grow aimless.

Clever sciences and profound arts flowed out from the City only to be ingested, refined and transformed by Citizens across the continent.

Our record shows there were long periods when few were without labor and even fewer labored without solace or respite. Scholars and artisans of every means made their way to the City.

But even recorded and held forth, the wisest might ignore lessons of the past...
