Tomoko Nagao

Tomoko Nagao (? – ) is a Japanese contemporary artist known for her vibrant and detailed reinterpretations of classic masterpieces through the lens of modern consumer culture, using the technique known as "micro-pop." Nagao infuses iconic images with symbols of contemporary life, such as brand logos, products, and technology, to critique and reflect on the impact of consumerism. Her style is part of the Superflat movement, initiated by Takashi Murakami, which blends high and low cultures, consumerism and traditional Japanese visual art with contemporary graphic design, all executed through digital printing techniques.
