Maud Menten helped enzyme kinetics become a field of study with her work with leonor michaelis. She was an amazing woman who did a lifetime of really solid science when women didn't do such stuff. She was a medical doctor and a chemist, was said to be one of the kindest people, spoke 5 or more languages. she is one of my heroes.
