La vouivre

The Vouivre is a legendary creature from European folklore, primarily found in regions of France, Switzerland, and Belgium. It's often described as a female serpent or dragon, endowed with wings and sometimes a crown or crest on its head. Its size can vary according to different accounts, but it's generally depicted as imposing. The Vouivre is associated with water, particularly rivers, lakes, and springs. It's said to protect hidden treasures at the bottom of water bodies and can control aquatic elements. It's often portrayed as a stern but fair guardian, vigilantly watching over its territory. In many legends, the Vouivre is also linked to a hidden treasure that it jealously guards. Some stories depict it as a malevolent creature, ready to punish those who dare to approach its treasure, while others portray it as a more benevolent entity, granting protection to those who show it respect.
