Adelia was a servant in a wealthy Dutch manor. Her days were filled with endless chores, from cleaning and cooking to mending and tending to children, but on this particular day, an irresistible urge washed over her, to escape the confines of the house and feel the cool water of the nearby pond on her skin.

Sneaking out of the back door, she made her way through the manicured gardens and into the woods that bordered the estate. The air was thick with the scent of pine and damp earth, a stark contrast to the lavender and rose that filled the house. As she walked, the weight of her responsibilities seemed to lift from her shoulders, replaced by a lightness of being.

Finally, she reached the pond. Sunlight danced on the surface of the water, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Without a second thought, Adelia kicked off her shoes and dipped her toes into the cool water. A sigh of pure contentment escaped her lips as the water lapped against her skin. For a fleeting moment, she was free.
