Eyewitnesses report seeing Grodd using his telepathic abilities to manipulate the minds of unsuspecting citizens, forcing them to do his bidding. His monstrous ape henchmen wreaked havoc throughout the streets, demolishing stores and leaving destruction in their wake.

Even the valiant efforts of Wonder Woman and Green Lantern were not enough to stop Grodd's reign of terror. Despite their best efforts to thwart his plans, Grodd proved to be a formidable opponent, overpowering Green Lantern and holding Coast City's mayor hostage. Tragically, the mayor ultimately met a grim fate, crushed beneath the rubble caused by Grodd's rampage.
