_No, no, no, it must be messing with my mind. This is impossible._

She ran the thought through her head one more time. Absolutely impossible.

The object Clara found had to be the power core Anubis had described to her. Also, it happened to recharge itself on one of the most powerful energy sources the universe had ever seen. Whaf if...? No. No, no, shake that thought.

You can't drain her in nine hours. This would require a constant drain of one, maybe two hundred years at least. Nine hours. Never. Although... you might be able to compress two hundred years into nine hours if, and that was a big, capitalized IF, you had a persistent tunnel in the time vortex that would only stay open when something had locked onto the TARDIS just before a jump in time and... this was exactly what had happened.

Ashildr sat down.

The Nilians' power core had drained her TARDIS.

A graphic novel illustration of Ashildr in a futuristic uniform, astonished by a dire realization. Stylized with ink lines, watercolour textures, and neon accents.

It had drained her TARDIS and without the core that apparently had gone missing, there was no way for her to recharge her and leave this nightmare.

Despaired, she closed her eyes.

Admist all the chaos of her mind's cacophony of frustration, despair and anger, a tiny voice tried to get her attention. Had she been able to listen to it, it might have told her about the core and the loop and the dangers of a mind-altering device supercharged with a near limitless energy, but oh well, she did not listen.

_It has drained... my TARDIS._
