Alex Pardee

Alex Pardee (1976 – ) is a renowned artist from the USA, known for his unique style that walks a tightrope between playful and grotesque. His art is a fusion of horror, humour, and Surrealism. His imaginative world is populated with bizarre characters in nightmarish landscapes, created using a vibrant colour palette and detailed linework. His works often delve into themes of mental health and existential dread in an emotionally evocative way, while incorporating elements of hope and resilience. His art techniques are diverse, using pens, ink, watercolours, and dye, and he has been experimenting with acrylics, oils, and latex. His artistry extends to mural painting, where he creates larger shapes and thicker line-work than usual due to the scale. In addition to his original creations, Pardee also paints his favourite movie monsters in his unique style, referred to as his “Doppelgängers”, further showcasing the versatility of his style.
