Beginner Guide to Canvas Effects

For best results, choose treatments that suit your subject. For example: Aging, foxing, and gilt edges read naturally on historical or classical subjects. Grunge, spatter, and scuffing suit urban or contemporary scenes. Mismatched pairings can still work, just expect a deliberate tension rather than a seamless antique look. Sample images of every effect are posted at #guide-to-effects.
