[The Place Beyond the Hill]

As children, we often believe happiness exists somewhere beyond the horizon-that life will truly begin once we reach the next place, the next achievement, or the next chapter. This body of work explores the architecture of longing: how a single feeling can quietly shape an entire lifetime.
The recurring hill is more than a landscape; it is a symbol of every distant dream we pursue. As Elias grows from a curious child into a successful adult, his longing changes form-from wonder, to ambition, to achievement, to regret-until loss teaches him that fulfillment was never waiting beyond the hill, but within the people, memories, and places he left behind.
The final image mirrors the first through the eyes of his grandchild, suggesting that longing is part of the human condition. Every generation inherits the same horizon, believing the answer lies just beyond it. My intention is not to tell the story of one man, but to invite viewers to reflect on the dreams they chased, the moments they overlooked, and the quiet realization that home is often understood only after we leave it.
