A competition for AI storytellers

Fionna almost couldn’t believe that she had just been fired because she allegedly had stolen someone’s wallet. She had never even thought about stealing anything in those three years she worked in that bistro. But since Bianca, her bosses girlfriend had started working here, she couldn’t stand Fionna and wanted to get rid of her. And lying about Fionna being a thief got Bianca what she wanted. When she looked up, she saw a young man with dark brown hair and piercing light brown eyes approaching the bar counter. It was Cameron who was a regular guest in the bistro. He was like a ray of hope in her miserable life. He smiled at her and ordered a pint. Suddenly Bianca appeared next to Fionna and told Cameron to watch his wallet. Fionna was so ashamed that she fled the bistro. When she got out, it was heavily raining and she had just missed her bus. What a bitch Bianca was! Not enough that Fionna was reliving her childhood trauma every night, she was jobless, and now even Cameron would be unreachable for her.

She didn’t know how it happened, but suddenly she found herself standing on the edge of the steel railing of a steel beam bridge. The river looked so black and alluring. Just one jump and she would never feel any pain again. ‘Don’t do it’, she suddenly heard a voice. Cameron! Slowly she turned around, away from the water. He reached out his hand and helped her descend. The terrified expression in his eyes changed to a relieved one. He stepped forward and without asking, Cameron pulled her into a tight embrace; so tight that she could hear his heartbeat. She rested her head against his shoulder and almost immediately, the sadness and the pain left, and for the first time in many years, she felt safe and understood.
