Your title: Reflections of Summer: A Dialogue Across Time

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This series explores how emotion shapes the spaces we inhabit the true architecture of feeling. Through impasto‑rich scenes of a mother and daughter who resemble one another across generations, the work examines how memory, longing, identity, and time construct invisible rooms between people. Each scene reveals how love and reflection form structures as real as walls, windows, and mirrors, inviting viewers to feel the emotional architecture that binds us.

BODY OF WORK — MULTI-SCENE SERIES:

Scene 1 — The Sunlit Room A warm Mediterranean sitting room filled with golden light. The daughter stands near a tall baroque mirror in a peach‑coral summer dress, glowing with youth. The mother appears only in the reflection, wearing an ivory dress, her expression layered with pride and longing. Their resemblance is unmistakable.

Scene 2 — The Balcony Breeze The daughter steps onto a sunlit balcony overlooking the coast, her dress catching the wind in dramatic impasto strokes. Inside, the mother watches from shadow. Their mirrored posture bridges the emotional distance between them.

Scene 3 — The Mirror Alone The mother stands alone before the antique mirror, touching its frame. Her reflection glows in cool tones, emphasizing memory and time. Her resemblance to her daughter is even more striking in solitude.

Scene 4 — Two Generations in One Light Mother and daughter stand side by side at the balcony doorway, their summer dresses moving in mirrored arcs. Sunlight hits them differently — gold for the daughter, silver for the mother — symbolizing time’s passage and shared identity.

Scene 5 — The Evening Reflection At sunset, the daughter sits near the mirror in warm twilight tones. The mother stands behind her, their reflections blending at the edges. The emotional tone peaks: acceptance, tenderness, and generational continuity.

Scene 6 — The Night of Understanding A nighttime scene lit by a single lamp and moonlight. Mother and daughter sit together on the floor, hands intertwined. Their reflections appear closer in the mirror than in reality, symbolizing emotional unity. The flowers, scarf, and photograph complete the emotional architecture of the moment.
