[The Warning on the Table]

Zamira is a kind of my alterego, the history started as a proposal for a horror challenge. Instead of making vampires or monsters, I decided a psychological horror history By the way, sorry for the translation, I used a tool for this.

“The Note on the Table.”

Past eight o’clock, Zamira locked the doors of the office where she worked. The building was empty except for Ray, the night guard, and the stray cat that always kept him company.

“Good night, Ray. See you tomorrow.”

-- “Good night, señorita. No one picking you up?”

Zamira only shrugged and stepped outside.

The cold, damp air warned of rain. Moments later, a storm erupted as if it had been waiting for her. Searching for shelter, she spotted a small café across the street: Raven Perch.

She rushed inside.

The warmth was immediate, but so was the smell—old wood, dampness, and something unpleasant she couldn't identify. A shiver crawled up her neck.

The café felt frozen in time.

A weary waitress named Mary took her order and returned a few minutes later with a coffee. Her hands trembled as she set it down.

Then, without a word, Mary slid a yellowed note across the table.

"YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT EARLIER."

Zamira looked up.

A faceless man stood outside the window: Motionless,Silent.,His empty gaze was fixed entirely on her.

Five seconds passed,Ten...an eternity

Then the man slowly raised a hand and pressed his palm against the glass.

Mary looked terrified.

Zamira calmly reached into her bag and pulled out an old leather-bound book covered in faded blue-green runes.

She opened it and whispered a few incomprehensible words.

The figure began to unravel like smoke, dissolving into hundreds of drifting particles until nothing remained.

Mary stared in shock.

The words on the note changed by themselves.

HE DID.

The rain had stopped.

Zamira stood, left money beside the untouched coffee, and headed for the door.

“But... what was that?” Mary asked, trembling.

Zamira paused briefly.

-“Nothing,” she said. “Just an echo that still follows me.”

Then she walked out into the night, leaving behind only the faint outline of a handprint on the fogged glass. ]
