Revenants

Behavior:

Primary Goal: Revenants act as sentries for highly infected areas, guarding locations of importance and seeking out intruders.

Abilities: Revenants have powerful psychic abilities, capable of creating hallucinations on a massive scale. They can warp the environment, turning rooms into distorted versions of themselves, and project visions of the player’s worst fears. Revenants emit a bone-chilling scream that paralyzes the player, leaving them vulnerable to attack. They also release a cloud of spores that cause paranoia and hallucinations.

Weaknesses: Revenants are difficult to defeat; players must destroy tethered objects (like totems or old personal belongings) that anchor them to the physical world. Using heavy weaponry, explosives, or powerful light sources in conjunction with destroying these items is required to fully banish them.
