The House That Taught Him Wonder

The House That Taught Him Wonder is a visual coming-of-age story about how wonder evolves into awe. The series follows Miles from his childhood into adulthood as he discovers impossible rooms hidden beyond his closet. What begins as curiosity and delight gradually becomes something deeper: a growing awareness of vastness, mystery, and his own small place within the world.

Each room represents a different stage of emotional and imaginative growth. The Cabinet of Curiosities invites discovery. The Greenhouse of Small Miracles expands wonder into something living and abundant. The Sea of Impossibility introduces scale and humility. The Observatory of Questions transforms wonder into awe. At the end, he comes to the realization that awe does not belong only to magical places. It has always existed in the ordinary world, waiting to be seen.

This body of work is about growing up without losing the ability to be astonished. It explores the idea that imagination is not an escape from reality, but a way of learning how to look at reality more deeply. By the end, Miles has learned how to sit beneath the real sky with the same openness, curiosity, and reverence he once brought to impossible rooms.

Pick a feeling - (wonder, longing, awe, the quiet kind of joy, it's up to you!) - and build a Body of Work that tells a story about it. Tell one story from start to finish, as a collection of images and/or videos, or as a single edited video. Think short film or mini exhibition, not a single image, clip, or mood board.
