Joseph And His Brothers, Part 1: "The Young Joseph"

This series of images traces Joseph’s journey between myth and humanity, from his brothers’ betrayal to reconciliation, inspired by the biblical Book of Genesis and Thomas Mann’s psychological depth. It is the journey of a dreamer who becomes a savior in a foreign land. This collection, "The Young Joseph" is part 1 of 4 according to the novels of Thomas Mann ("Joseph In Egypt", "Joseph The Provider", "The Story Of Jacob"). Part 1 covers events from Joseph's youth up to his sale to the Midianites. However, unlike Thomas Mann, I began my series of images with the well-known biblical story of Joseph and will conclude with "The Story of Jacob."
I have chosen this series of images because it expresses a highly diverse "Architecture of Feeling" - ranging from the heartfelt bond between father and son, the envy and resentment of the brothers, Joseph’s deep bonding to his biological brother Ben-Oni, and his vanity, to his despair in the pit and his departure into the unknown. At the end of the series, we see Jacob in deep mourning.
These images were created over a period of several months, with careful attention paid to consistency in technique, the model used, style, and visual language.
