True love is a powerful radiant force, capable of piercing through the deepest darkness. It is forged in the fire of selfless sacrifice, demanding a courage that willingly places another's life above one's own.

Once upon a time, in the beautiful garden of Aethelgard, every night beneath the star swept sky, Princess Xelena and her lover Valentino would meet, and hours would fly by while they'd be lost in each other's presence.

Their pure love drew the evil eye of malice, and one night as they were together, a dark cold wind swept through the garden, as a chilling, wicked laugh echoed from the shadows. From the darkness appeared the wicked witch Vespera, a creature born of envy and spite, who loathed the pure light of their devotion. "Such beautiful, fragile joy," she hissed, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Let us see how it burns." With a twisted gesture, she summoned the red arc of evil lightning,

hurling the destructive force directly at Xelena. Sensing the danger, Valentino did not hesitate. He threw himself in front of the princess, shielding her with his own body. The crimson bolt struck him right in the chest. With a choked gasp, he collapsed onto the ground, motionless. The witch’s triumphant laughter echoed as she vanished into the night. Xelena fell to her knees, as she sat beside Valentino. His skin was growing cold, his breathing very faint. Tears began to stream down her face, when suddenly a soft, ethereal melody fell into her ears. Xelena looked up to see a glittering white dove, singing this song: "Seek the Rose of Golden Light, To undo the evil spell of the night, Follow the golden path that gleams, To break the curse of deadly dreams."

Driven by fierce determination to find the golden rose of life, Xelena walked into the deep woods. The golden path led her deep into the heart of the ancient forest, into a hidden valley with hundreds of beautiful glowing roses. Xelena walked on the golden trail until it stopped before a single, magnificent bloom: the Golden Rose of Life. Its beauty was mesmerizing. The legend said that only a heart filled with true love shall claim the flower. Any who touches it with deceit in their hearts will be instantly pierced by its venomous thorns and die. Xelena did not hesitate as she reached out and plucked the Golden Rose, and it began to glow brighter with the light of the true love in her heart. Clutching the rose in her hand, Xelena went back to Valentino and gently placed the golden rose upon his chest, and watched as it slowly healed him back to life. He opened his eyes and saw her smiling at him, the best feeling ever. Their love had endured the ultimate test of sacrifice, each had willingly offered up their own life to save the other. The ancient magic of the Golden Rose placed an eternal guard over them with a light so pure that no evil curse of darkness could ever pierce through. Together they continued to live out their happily ever after.
