THE LOVE OF STORIES

What has become my debut showreel, "The Love of Stories" , is an emotional reminder of the written word of my younger years and a tribute to my love of literature passed down by my late grandfather. If you can watch it full screen, turn up the sound, and loop the video.

I spent countless hours blending distinct visual images into a seamless narrative. What began as a technical challenge evolved into a personal journey, and witnessing the final frame coming together sparked an emotional release within me.

I worked to structure the piece as a seamless loop, a deliberate technical choice reflecting the infinite cycle of never ending stories that shape our lives.

To achieve this, I focused heavily on the technical harmony between the AI images and the pacing of the video and the "Journey", I wanted to tell. Each transition had to feel organic and unseen rather than a abrupt cut which really does take the viewer out of long form AI videos.

Balancing the complex imagery with an ethereal choral score allowed me to translate my own nostalgia into a universal visual language.

The gruelling render hours (there were many wrong turns) and editing were entirely driven by emotion; a desire to do justice to the legendary Love of the written word I have, and to my grandfather who would read to me nearly every night.

From fantasy miniature villages to space ships, and the amazing late Terry Pratchett. All the comforting bedtime tales of my youth were captured in this.

This piece is a labour of love that I hope proves what can be achieved with effort and time.
