Hey there! It’s Do-san, the creator of how to be an anime being 2 collection. 

Few days ago, my roommate Haruki photographed and documented 13 different people during his walk in downtown Tokyo. Thanks to all people who leave really nice comments during the duration of this project. 

As a gift of thanks, me and Haruki decided to make this appendix as a way to include other people that he also met—and quite possibly liked, but we couldn’t find a way to integrate into the main story. I hope you enjoy this appendix as you did with the main story.

Oh by the way, the picture above is from Haruki’s art studio from last last week. He’s currently working on a thesis painting! I hope the teacher likes his work.

> One of the friends I’ve encountered and met last night in Tokyo. Today, I found her buying a bought a box of pon de rings. Well, the one she carries are normal donuts, the pon de rings were buried deep in the box. She told me it’s for a gift for a friend, as she’s having an intimate birthday party just a walking distance from the donut shop. Honestly, the donuts she bought looks delicious. As I was thinking about those, she probably read my mind and decided to give me one. She’s so sweet! I hope her friend has a sweet birthday party, whoever they are honestly.

Ah! So I am the new Pocari Girl! www 🥰 Thank you for including me in your story. 🙏

> Another friend I’ve discovered last night. I recently saw her buying pocari on a vending machine. I waved at her and she waved me back. At that time I was thirsty as hell from walking around. But as she pressed the button on the vending machine, it dispensed not one, but two bottles! To be honest, it felt like fate decided to give me one, as if they knew what’s up with me. Anyways, she wanted me to walk with her to the cafe where her friend is waiting for her. She said that she feels unsafe when she’s alone. So I agreed and we were on our way.

> We’ve arrived at the cafe with almost half of pocari in my bottle. From there, me and Sabaku met Crumble, drinking her coffee while sitting on a luggage. I don’t know why she would do it, maybe she likes it or something. I sat with her with some vacant seats I found. She and Sabaku chatted for a while. I don’t mind what they’re talking about, until an awkward silence loomed in. I used that opportunity to ask about her luggage. She said that she’s moving away somewhere, rethinking about what she’s going to do with her life. I understood. After she told her reason, she glances at her watch and hurriedly grabs her coffee from the table. It’s a short interaction, yet it feels that I’ll miss her someday. It’s the last time we talked to each other. I hope she finds her meaning someday.

> After finishing my bottle of pocari, me and Sabaku go on to our separate ways. She’s going to the temple in case you’re wondering. Anyway, as I was walking, I bumped into someone wearing an angel costume and she dropped her halo headpiece. Apparently, she’s in a hurry, so she didn’t have time to realize that her headpiece was gone from her head. Being a good person, I grabbed the headpiece and run up to her. Luckily, she stopped at the crossing where the lights were read. I tapped her shoulder and asked if her halo headpiece she dropped was hers. She thanked me profusely. She said that she’s late for a theater play and she didn’t wake up on time. After that, she briskly walks to the theater and made it on time. Also, she did offer me a ticket to their play, to which I accepted it. I hope she does well on the play.

> I’m at the park and I’ve been walking around for too long now. So, it would be nice if I took a short break. I found a bench with someone sitting and using her phone on the far right side. I sat down opposite of her to avoid interfering with her personal space. At a glance, she appears to be wearing a maid outfit with cat ears. I quietly approached her and asked her where she’s working. Without hesitation, she pointed to the cafe where she’s working just down the street. She also said that their food’s great and she also offered me to come by anytime. I thanked her for her hospitality. Afterwards, she got up and went back to work. I like her, maybe I’ll come by for a visit sometime.

> I’m still sitting at a park bench, wondering where to go next. Though I have some many ideas: the beach, the library, that maid cafe someone offered me to come by anytime. Eh, I’ve run out of ideas. Until, someone sat at the far end of the bench where the maid once sat down. She’s talking to a friend on the phone. I don’t wanna chime in, but I heard something about a haircut and how she’s hesitant about that idea. After talking for a couple of minutes, she ends the call and lets out a sigh. I can’t help but offer some empathy. I told her that it’s normal to feel hesitant and that I’ve been there many times before. I also said that whatever’s her decision, her comfort is what matters. To be honest, I kinda felt like a counselor or something. She thanked me for some kind words and in short, she left. I hope she made a good decision though.

> Yeah, I’m still sitting at this bench. As I’m thinking about where to go, someone came in front of me. A girl with hair as green as ferns asks if the seat is taken. I’m not expecting anyone, so I shake my head and she sat next to me. We were both quiet for two minutes, and I’m feeling bored. So, I burst into conversation, asking for a random place in the city. She asks if I have visited the museum yet. I paused. Ah, that seems like a good idea! I grabbed my stuff and I expressed my gratitude to the girl for helping me out—she’s probably confused. Maybe I should take a public transport to get there.

> I caught the bus at the last minute. If I didn’t made it in time, I would’ve walked my way to the museum, which is frustrating and tiring. The ride from the park to the museum took fifteen minutes. I couldn’t listen to music, as the route is short, so I just watched apartment buildings passing by. As the bus arrives at the last stop, I noticed a girl frantically looking for something. I rise up my seat and kindly approached her. She said her headband with a pink bow fell out of her bag and she’s now looking for it. I scanned the bus floors, eventually finding it under the seat. I picked it up and handed it back to her. In the end, she thanked me for my kindness. We both got out of the bus before it leaves, and we both went our separate ways.

> At last, I entered the museum with relief. I headed to the European paintings collections first, because I wanted to go there whenever I visit an art museum—I like looking at paintings sometimes. As I pass by lots of paintings, mostly from the renaissance and baroque, I stopped at a Pre-Raphaelite painting called Ophelia. Looking at it, I’m mesmerized by her upward gaze, the details of her silver embroidered dress, and the flowers floating with her on the river. Even the guy next to me—wearing the coolest outfit I’ve ever seen—agrees with me. He whispered to me that she looks very pale. I could see that. I explained that it’s from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, where she fell into the river picking flowers and slowly drowned while singing. I don’t know if he's into literature, but it created an interesting discussion between both of us.
