# this waifu does not exist

when i look for inspiration for making anime images, i find them in various places. i scroll through instagram, browse AI-gen websites (plus points if it contains prompts), or sometimes i go out IRL. but for this collection, i went for a different direction and went for a nostalgia trip.

last night, i discovered a website called [*This Waifu Does Not Exist*](https://thiswaifudoesnotexist.net/). the website consists of a StyleGAN-2 image of an anime waifu, along with a GPT-3 review of an anime. this triggered my old memories of Artbreeder and my obsession with StyleGAN, especially with those morphing videos. this is where i became interested in AI-generated anime before Stable Diffusion existed.

here in 7th season, i’ve handpicked and reimagined 24 waifus ([reference gallery](https://postimg.cc/gallery/Lp9Cc6)). some were adapted, refined, half of which are even genderswapped. this is dedicated to my Grade 7 self. i hope you’ll like these set of images :)
