When I was a kid, I played with my grandmother's wringer washer; my dad's reel-to-reel tape and my mother's sewing machine, with the pedal. There were still 78 RPM records and a turntable with that speed!

When my dad talked of the old days, there were just a few things I had to imagine: ice box, outhouse, yellow food color tablet for oleomargarine.

My own children never knew what it was like before personal computers, though mobile phones were invented during their lifetime. And, they never knew about rotary phones, 8 mm projectors, big gas guzzlers like the Electra 225 that ran on leaded fuel.

I'm sure there are more things, like opening a can with that sharp knife-like opener. LOL

Id think he'd know far better than us both.  :-)

Maybe we just FEEL the gap is larger these days. I mean I knew it was getting late in the day when the only place I was hearing my favorite songs was in the elevator.  But, Hell .. even the Karate Kid is in his 50s now.

So, maybe it's just us!?
