This is an illustration I made based on an experience with a disabled person in the past, perhaps more than 60 years ago. This man was walking door-to-door in the rain selling postcards. Until he asked if he could have a glass of water and said that until now he had only drunk the water that remained in the brim of his hat. We then gave him something to drink and eat in the kitchen of our house. I think that in this modern age, people just can't do this, certainly not when young people scam elderly people and, just like with us, pose as bank or police officers; nobody trusted each other anymore.

It reminds me yet again how vulnerable people who no longer have the opportunity to live in a dignified, humane way are sometimes ignored in daily life because of their disability. That is why I find it so beautiful that you made an illustration about it. It also occurs to me that I once had a disabled person at our front door who sold postcards—no, not for himself, but for a good cause—who drank the rainwater that collected in the brim of his hat. You never forget that, even though I think it was more than 60 years ago. That is why I am always reminded of it whenever I see this. It is nice that you have not forgotten this fellow man. I will also try, from my thoughts, to translate what I described above into an illustration(s).
