I rescued my black cat from our semi-wild backyard 13 years ago. When I first saw her, she must've been less than a year old, skinny and terrified of people. It took almost y months to tame her. We don't get much snow in winter but it's cold and almost always raining - no dry place she could find. We also have coyotes that regularly eat stray cats and small dogs. I swear she wouldn't have survived much longer if I hadn't taken her in.
