Crossing the River Styx with Poppies

Poppy seeds need light to grow. During WWI, trench warfare and modern artillery disturbed the soil where seeds can lie dormant for 80 years. Red poppies sprung up all over war torn European battlefields amongst the dead bodies of the soldiers.
