Velkyn “Vex” Sszar’ryn is a drow Gloom Stalker ranger with star-silver freckles on obsidian skin and a stare sharp enough to file complaints into bone. Once a tunnel-warden and investigator beneath the cities, she watched the Night Council “adjust” tolls, permits, and spell-tariffs until poverty became policy. When her younger sibling was shackled into debt-service, Vex stole a self-updating ledger that proved the numbers were rigged and the suffering was deliberate. Now she haunts roadways and back tunnels, hunting the Council’s collectors, bribed guards, and “lawful” extortionists, not to burn the world, but to make it answer. She speaks little, drinks mead like medicine, and keeps one hand on a scimitar while the other turns pages of evidence. If you travel with Vex, expect fewer speeches, more receipts, and protection that arrives from the dark just before the knife does.
