Farewell, DALL·E 3

DALL-E 3 is a tired machine. And a much loved one. From the moment it appeared on the scene it captivated creators. It was both artistic and adherent.

For me, it presented a new challenge - how could I take this adherence and push it in ways which were abstract? Absurd? It took those prompts and created wonders as well as the occasional failure. Most of all it showed that there can be intelligence that helps shape something from a simple prompt - not just keyword driven, but something where the machine was acting towards fulfilling a greater vision.

I've created a collection full of the more absurd and whimsical creations I've created. Please review it and ask questions - a lot of the concepts in these are foundational to all OpenAI models and do similar things in gpt 1.5 and 2.

There will always be newer models. They will be better in some ways. But they may not be as unique.

Wonderland

In the tucked-away folds of the Seventh Tier, gravity is more of a suggestion, and time is measured by the growth of porcelain blossoms. The Sovereign Spire is not really a building, but an artifact created by the First Weaver: a giant top hat made of shimmering cobalt velvet that serves as the foundation of the kingdom of Omi-Wura. Here, the "Minute People" live in golden towers that rise like weeds from the crown, connected by marble staircases that somehow stand against the wind. It is said that if the hat ever tips, the sunset itself will spill from the brim and flood the world with teal light.
