Created for a plaid-themed challenge. My prompt called for the model to be a young woman of Japanese heritage, as painted by Rembrandt. I have previously published several other items featuring a Japanese girl whose family has emigrated to Scotland and now calls itself "Clan MacSugiyama." In one of those previous creations, I named her "Rina MacSugiyama." (I am assuming that the "Mac-" part is a recent development; her father chose to add that syllable to the family name in order to fit in better with his new neighbors. He even paid someone good money to design a "traditional tartan" for them.)

This oil painting captures a full-body view of a young Japanese woman in a detailed Scottish plaid dress, depicted in the dramatic Baroque style of Rembrandt.
