a once grand station... the town must also be in decay for an apparently grand stop to be abandoned. Shiny rails, the train goes through. Victorian classicism, nice ironwork features. I am imagining factories in the same style with those large windows for light, once turning out tractors, steam engines, sewing-machines, compressors, and so on, a town of heavy industry killed by the Thatcher years and the decline of our heavy industry to make room for service industries and other intangibles.
These superb images get to me in all the worst ways. By the time people start talking about the need for public infrastructure again, there's usually some financial reason it can't be done.
