I personally, viewed "3" as the MIDDLE of 1 to 5 making a 3.0 feel like a solid "mediocre" score to me. That then upset me that even the WINNERS seldom broke 4.0 and I started the voting staring at a 2.5 [WTF moment]. ... Someone else explained to me that THEY (as a schoolteacher) viewed the numbers like LETTER GRADES: 1=D, 2=C, 3=B, 4=A, 5=PERFECT and scored accordingly.
That seems to be closer to the NORM here at NC. I have just learned to adjust me expectations accordingly.
I wish it were different, but sometimes one is best served by accepting things AS THEY ARE, rather than shaking a fist at the tide.
