Which must be totally different design (such as cute cartoonish skull spider versus scary realistic skull spider) , or totally new composition (new style not enough such as photorealistic to water color) In this case it’s composition. Wanted to get more of an off centered more angled shot but ended up with happy accident of lotus of shell which i like 

Another example of different design I am okay with is say I have seen bug dragons with butterfly wings, then I would make a bug dragon too but give it a scorpion tail and mandible lower jaw with four eyes to make it different from other bug dragons
