I like it very much, as is!

 If you want to try adding things, maybe red and yellow flowers around the porch. That would give a good pop of color- which might be interesting with the lack of bright colors in the memory. Adding a dog. a German shepherd, Irish setter or golden retriever sitting next to him with its paw on the knee that's closer to the house or curled up sleeping with the head on his shoe. Maybe a few kids laughing and playing in a sprinkler to show has had a good life.

I was listening to Vietnam war rock and it occurred to me to try to draw a picture, a veteran sitting outside his house somewhere in Texas, remembering that he first stepped into the jungles of Vietnam many years ago today. I tried a few pictures, but this was the best one, but there's still something missing. Although at the moment I don't know exactly what.  Do you like this picture? If not, how would you improve it?

Thank you so much for participating in the **Byzantium** challenge. It was a joy to see all the really amazing Byzantine creations. I didn’t see any that deserved a score of less than 3. And there were a lot that warranted a 4 or a 5. 

I'll leave the challenge posted until 6:00 PM MST on Monday the 18th of March. Take that time to look over all the wonderful creations, _like_ and comment on those you feel deserve it.
