Some of the west wing has decades of neglect unused .. a room at the end left bare .. the only things in it torn pieces of paper. One ripped ‘op secr’ then ‘enigm’ then ‘bletc’ mmm so The house and I guess the portal played a part in the war effort .. maybe just maybe it helped break the code and Tascha was a part of it so why she cautious about the portal when we found it - knowing about it but only teasing information about it at first to us
