Monk in the courtyard

Under the full moon the monk enters the courtyard, just before he calls the others for they will be taking their places along the opposing sides of the courtyard. Where they will ready their instruments – long, silver Tibetan horns, intricately carved hand drums, and shakers adorned with prayer flags.

As they start a deep resonant hum erupts from his throat – a primordial sound that seems to emanate from the very earth itself. It is joined by another, then another, until a chorus of otherworldly vibrations fills the space.

The music builds, a crescendo of vibrant energy that washes over the monks. Their bodies begin to sway, not in a dance, but in a deep, meditative flow. The chants intensify, becoming mantras that vibrate their very souls.

In this realm of ethereal sound, boundaries dissolve. The temple, the mountains, the very air – all become one pulsating entity of mystical energy.
