I fought the Law, and the Law won.
I declare myself defeated. I fought against the Daily Challenge with all myself, but at the end the Daily Challenge won.
Since the introduction of the new "system", my likes and feedback dropped to levels that I didn't have since my first weeks here in NC. I passed from an average of 25+ likes per image to struggling enormously to reach the "10 likes" notification. I do everything like before, I comment and I interact, and my images have of course improved in quality. It's a problem of visibility: considering that I have more than 1200 followers, clearly they don't see what I post.
Problem is, feedback and visibility are crucial to my online shop, and I need them. And, as of now, the only way I can think is to put my convinctions aside and participate again in the Daily Carnage.

It's a sad thing, for me, because I always made coherence a priority. But I have to cope.
This once was a site of AI art, now it's "the website of the Daily Challenge" (as it's called outside here). Nothing matters apart the Daily Challenge. Everything orbits around the Daily Challenge. The Management send mails encouraging the forming of groups "to dominate the Daily Challenge". The Top Daily, Top Weekly, Top Monthly are exclusive monopoly and realm of the Daily Challenge (or Daily Carnage, as I prefer to call it.)
And so, I decided to throw in the towel. The System has won: I cannot afford (really can't) to go back to being invisible like my very early NC days.
I still loathe the Daily Carnage, and I consider it a huge detriment--but I can no longer refrain from participating. I will limit my participation to themes of which I already have images, I will never make new ones specifically for the Challenge.
But, defeated, here I am. Sorry.
