Yaoundé had become a major shipping hub for colonization efforts of exo planets and the emerging fad of custom built worlds throughout the Cosmopolitan Cosmos in the 25th century.
Initially targeted by the First Corporate Alliance that emerged from the climate change apocalypse of the early millennium, Cameroon was aggressively terraformed through the ERP, or Earth Reclamation Project, which faced significant opposition only from the Neo-Buddhists, though they would relocate off world by this time period.
Established as a bread basket of the new emerging world order as sea levels were receded, Yaoundé evolved from it's role of a center of Earth reclamation to it's vital role in galactic colonization.
