The charity event was sponsored by her company, and she thought it might be fun to volunteer. She knew it would be cold, but she wanted to look good, so she wore her favorite jeans, a bulky sweater with her tall boots, and her new puffer jacket. But once she got there, none of the other volunteers were dressed like her. They were in sweats or leggings and sweatshirts. She wondered if she had missed something when she volunteered? It didn't take long for her to realize what she had missed. Participation in the polar plunge was required, not just working to register people. She couldn't believe she didn't read the fine print. So when it was her turn, she waded in and sat on a rock asking if this counted. It wasn't too bad, she thought, and she actually liked how her jeans and the end of her sleeves felt all wet. After a few minutes sitting on the rock she gave in and dunked herself completely under. She'd be wet for a while but it was for a good cause!
