Capcaun (The Dog-headed Ogre)

The ogre is, in Romanian mythology, a supernatural character, who sometimes appeared with two heads, sometimes with the head of a dog and the body of a man. It is said that these beings can transform into several animals.

The ogre is presented as the one who steals a princess, with a reward on his head, he is difficult to defeat and, most of the time, the heroes fail miserably.

In legends, the ogre has his own land, one without flowers or any kind of life forms and very dark, but not lacking in macabre beings that do not hesitate to attack any passerby.

Many aspects of the ogre's appearance are not presented in Romanian folklore, as he is often presented as any fierce animal, his origins are unknown, he lives alone without even having other ogres as friends and having only one goal: to do harm.
