The youngest son from a prominent household, Kalverin has risen to First Mate on The Blue Belle - a ship leading a small fleet, under His Majesty's commission, to stop raiders, poachers and pirates from attacking the northern settlements and mudlands.
A charismatic man, who has an easy time with the ladies, runs the ship with a loud voice, charm and an easy laugh - but his temper, when crossed, is feared and people know to stay away when he is quiet.
He has a deepness that lies behind the easy smile... he is, at heart, an unhappy man. He may love life on the sea - but he's grieving the loss of his mother, who died whilst he was at sea.
