**Laurel Burch** (Laurel Anne Harte; 1945 – 2007) was an artist from the USA, known for her distinctive style and use of vibrant colours. Burch’s art is described as symbolic and imaginative, reflecting her love of life and strong creative nature. She began her career by making jewellery, using found metal which she hammered out on the back of an old frying pan. Her work evolved to include paintings and designs made into earrings using cloisonné, a type of enamel work. Burch also worked with cast metals, and wood, and created spinoff products on paper, porcelain, and fabric.
