Her family was aghast when they found she smoked cigars. "That's why you're going grey early!"
Certainly it wasn't her high-powered job! Ironically, though, once she'd started, she'd felt less stress. She only smoked when she had the time, and she did not smoke around THEM.
Yet her parents and siblings badgered her on each phone call.
"You know, the cigars I smoke a thousand miles away don't take a second off your life. But your complaining does, for me."
Every cigar brought a similar possible comeback. She did not need or want to use them. But it was nice to be prepared and not fear those silly conflicts. She hadn't always been.
