Today, the 11th day of the 11th month @ the 11th hour, I (like so many others across the world) remember the sacrifices of war veterans & other advocates & allies from across the globe -- that fought for freedom & human rights, & a better world for generations to come...
some in battles (in trenches & on open fields), others in secret (w/ underground resistance), some in Prison Camps (where they fought every moment to hang onto their own hope & humanity), & many many others 'back home' who learned new trades & new skills, willingly giving up comforts, to support a country that was striving to provide for their many citizens that were stationed over seas.
.... But I also remember my own grandparents, who were young men & women, living in the Netherlands during the 'great wars'... I am very thankful for their personal tenacity, perseverance & bravery as they fought not just for their own lives, but for the lives of their many decendants to come.
